A firing death squad or a deportation to Siberia was awaiting many at the end of dreadful interrogations.
The Officer House
This house hosted officers from the Soviet navy. One can still see communist symbols on the facade like Soviet looking stars.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in Riga - a trip that will be long
remembered by our family of 23, who were there on a nostalgia trip, retracing the
steps of my youth there. Pierre, led us on excursions through Old Riga, the Art
Nouveau District, to the Ethnographic Museum and Bralu Kapi and several other
interesting places, always entertaining us with historical, political and cultural
information. We were always sorry that the tour had ended because we found him
extremely useful and interesting as a guide. Furthermore, because of the great span
of ages in our group, our youngest granddaughter was 7 and both of us were
approaching 78, Pierre had to be resourceful and flexible in finetuning the trip to
everyone's desires and capabilities. If we were to consider another trip there, we
would look for your group to assist us. In every respect, your group was very
helpful Thanks. Ruth
